So the other day Jason emailed me looking for locales he could play a gig in. I looked some places up for him and sent him the info. When he emailed me back, he threw in a little blurb about Terry Gilliam directing a movie adaptation of 'Good Omens'. I replied to him telling him that yes, I did know about it and it was old news. As in, several years old and now the idea had been scraped. A shame too. But I just got my EW today and started reading it. It had an interview w/ Gilliam about his new movie 'The Brothers Grimm' and they happened to mention 'Good Omens'. So now it's officially scrapped, though Gilliam has been known to want to scrap/restart some of his projects. Crazy, genius man. The best part (that is kinda sad depending on if this movie never gets made) is that Johnny Depp and Robin Williams were going to be the lead characters (JD as Crowley, my favorite character... go-figure ::rolls eyes::... and RW as the angel whose name escapes me at the moment, but was hilarious). I wonder if there's a petition out there I could sign to get this film going again... I would love to see it as it was one of the best comedy books I read in the past year (I need to start a Gaiman collection -_-;;;). Oh yeah, they also mentioned that Gilliam was considered by JK herself for the Harry Potter movies. And Gilliam apparently really wanted to do them... then admited that he hated the first two and said the third one was okay... So maybe in the future we'll see a Gilliam Potter movie (and that will be something, folks!). I think I'll rent Brazil or Fear and Loathing this weekend for something to do. Or maybe Maggie and Tiffany will want to watch 12 Monkeys with me. Heehee. Hell, maybe I'll just watch Monty Python. I just need to watch something Gilliam-made right now. In other news, I'm thinking about changing my minor to Theatre Arts. I would really love to get into show business. I'm insane for thinking it, but lately I LOVE IT! -PhoeJaj
